Long Live Beerworks is based in Providence, Rhode Island. The brewery and taproom are at 40R Sprague Street. The brewery calls itself taproom-focused: the space has an open layout, you can look straight into the brewing area and there is a cosy patio.
There is now also a second location in Roxbury, Boston, at 152 Hampden Street. Boston Magazine reported that a brewery and taproom is coming there, with a varied range including IPAs and sours. When exactly Long Live Beerworks was founded, and by whom, is not stated in the sources we use. That's why we leave it out.
Hoppy beer, playful stouts and classic styles
According to the brewery itself, it's all about hop-forward beer, playful stouts and classic styles. The homepage opens with 'Cheers to hazy beers & good times', so hazy beer clearly belongs to the repertoire.
Fresh cans appear every week. The range in the taproom changes, and the brewery posts daily menu updates on Instagram. If you want to know what's on right now, check there.
Long Live Beerworks at Hoptimaal
We have two beers from Long Live Beerworks: a barleywine and a stout, both 12% and in 50 cl. Long Live Beerworks Abyssal Gate and Long Live Scythian Ale are rated highly on Untappd.
These are strong beers, so take your time with them. Take them out of the fridge a quarter of an hour before opening, so they aren't too cold. Pour them into a tulip glass or snifter. A 50 cl bottle at 12% is also perfectly fine to share between two.
