A bike trip and an arch under Piccadilly
In 2008 Sam set off on a bike ride that grew into a two-year trip around the world. He started with a coast-to-coast ride across the United States, where he came across small taprooms and breweries that made an impression on him. He cycled through 25 countries on five continents and covered 35,000 miles.
Back home, Sam dived into the beer world and learned the trade in London. Then he returned to the north-west of England, where Track began in an arch under Piccadilly Station. The brewery spent seven years in that 2,000-square-foot arch. In May 2021 Track moved to a 12,000-square-foot warehouse on Piccadilly Trading Estate, a stone's throw from the first site.
The goal came from the American taprooms: a place where production and drinking sit side by side. You smell and see a working brewery and taste the beer as fresh as possible.
Track's beer
Track describes itself as a brewery of craft beers that take you on an adventure. The core range consists of Sonoma, Half Dome, From Above and Arosa. Sonoma is a pale ale and also comes alcohol-free as Sonoma AF at 0.5%.
The brewery also keeps bringing out new releases. On its own site you will find, for example, Sunset Valley, an IPA with Nelson Sauvin at 6.5%, and Notice, an 8.0% DIPA with Citra, Peacharine and Nelson Sauvin. There is also a pale ale with Citra and limequat, Steep Hills. So hops are clearly the starting point at Track, and you can see that in what we bring in from them.

At Hoptimaal you will find Track in 44 cl, and so far only as IPA. We have had fifteen of them so far, with strengths from 6.5 to 10%. Drink Track's hoppy beers fresh and well chilled, so the hops keep their aroma. Store them cool and don't wait too long. You can take the stronger beers of 8% and above a bit more slowly. Let them settle in the glass for a few minutes, and more flavour comes out.
