From kitchen brew to Breda
Big Belly Brewing Company comes from Breda. The story starts with Tom, who never liked lagers and, for as long as he can remember, ordered ales, such as Hoegaarden and Weihenstephaner. When he got tired of the conversation about which pilsner was better, he organised a blind tasting. A group of beer geeks came out of that.
To learn more about brewing, Tom started in his own kitchen. After a year and a half of experimenting he brought in Remco, also a fanatic about food, whisky and beer. Together they carried on brewing. A year and a half later they were so enthusiastic about their friends' reactions that they knocked on the door of Brouwerij Frontaal. They still brew their beer there. Remco Franssens is listed as co-founder.
Contract brewer with big flavours
