From Dyce to shelves across Scotland
Fierce Beer is based in Dyce, Aberdeen. According to Aberdeen Live, the brewery started in 2016 and Aldi was its very first customer. The paper calls Fierce a multiple award-winning brewery that grew into one of the five largest craft breweries in Scotland.
That link with Aldi still exists. Around the first Aberdeen Beer Festival in the Music Hall, six new beers appeared under the name Fierce and Friends, made for Aldi Scotland. All six were brewed at the brewery in Aberdeen. Three of them were made together with English breweries: a fruited sour with New Bristol, a citrusy West Coast IPA with Neptune Brewery from Liverpool and a coffee porter with Indie Rabble.
Fierce also has its own bars. According to CB Insights they are in Aberdeen and Edinburgh, and the brewery's own website refers to its bars.
A broad range, from gluten-free to imperial stout
Fierce's web shop shows a broad line-up. Under the heading gluten-free, vegan beer you will find Fierce IPA, Fancy Juice, Cerveza, Fierce Peach, Fierce Iron Brew and Go Easy, among others. There are also separate collections for coolers and for Rush.
On the dark side there is Café Racer, a coffee & vanilla porter that the brewery itself calls a firm favourite of the team. VBM also comes out every year, described by Fierce as the annual imperial stout. CB Insights describes the brewery as a maker of pale lagers, imperial stouts and vegan-friendly beers. That fits the picture of a brewery that makes both easy-drinking everyday beers and heavy seasonal beers.
Fierce Beer at Hoptimaal
We have carried two beers from Fierce: an IPA and a stout, in 33 and 44 cl. The strength ranges from 8 to 12.5%. On Untappd, Fierce Very Big Birthday and Fierce Pillow Fight are rated highest. At the moment we have no Fierce in stock, so check the web shop or the store for the current situation.
Drink hoppy beers as fresh and as cold as possible, so the aromas stay sharp. With the heavier stouts, take your time. Don't pour them ice-cold and let them warm up slowly in the glass, so that coffee, chocolate and alcohol notes come through better.
