From kitchen to their own brewery
In 2012, the former chefs Sanne Slijper and Martijn Disseldorp started Two Chefs Brewing in Amsterdam. They began with a home-built brewing system and used their experience from the kitchen to experiment with ingredients and flavour combinations.
At first they didn't have a brewery of their own. By 2016 they had released nine beers and raised money through crowdfunding to set up an independent production brewery in Amsterdam. On their own website they call the restaurant and taproom in Amsterdam their second home.
Varied and experimental
Two Chefs doesn't stick to one style. According to the sources, they make beers ranging from IPAs and fruited sours to a Stroopwafel Stout. That fits with how the brewery began: trying out ingredients, combining them and seeing what works.
So it's better to taste with an open mind than with a fixed expectation of one house style.
Two Chefs at Hoptimaal
At our shop you'll find Two Chefs in 33 cl. The range changes, but we've already had a Pale Ale, a Witbier, an IPA and a Bock from them. The alcohol percentage is between 5 and 6 percent. Bon Chef, Funky Falcon, White Mamba and Modern Bock are highly rated on Untappd.
Drink the Pale Ale, the IPA and the Witbier fresh and cold, so the hops and freshness come through well. The Bock can be a little less cold from the glass, which brings out the malt side better. Check in the shop or on the webshop to see which beers are in stock right now.
