A contract brewery from Dordrecht
White Dog Brewery comes from Dordrecht and was founded in 2018 by Ricky Maertzendorff, owner and brewer. On Untappd, the brewery is listed as a contract brewery. The name refers to Ricky's dog, a West Highland White Terrier called Westie, who also serves as the mascot.
Ricky started by brewing himself, but according to Beer Dudes he went through his beers so fast that he decided to scale up. Since then he has had his recipes brewed at Baxbier in Groningen. According to the same source, they are almost without exception hits, which is why they often sell out quickly.
Hoppy beers with a broad range
White Dog stands out with hardcore hoppy IPAs and double NEIPAs, beers with a pronounced flavour. The brewery also increasingly makes stouts and smoothie sours. According to Verdins, the beers also find their way abroad, where the group of fans is growing.
You can see this in the Will It Float series, 6% smoothie sours that are released as numbered editions. There are also 11% imperial stouts, such as Monstrosity Part 2 and Rocky Road. According to Verdins, the brewery has scored high on Untappd since the start.

At Hoptimaal we have had three White Dog IPAs, all in 44 cl and between 6 and 8% alcohol. The highest rated on Untappd are White Dog THIS IS CITRA, White Dog NOT MY CIRCUS and White Dog SUMMERTIME. We don't have any in stock at the moment. Because these beers also sell out quickly elsewhere, it's best to check the webshop regularly.
Drink hoppy beers as fresh as possible, because hop aroma loses strength over time. Keep them in the fridge and serve them cool, around 6–8 °C. A tulip glass or IPA glass helps bring out the aroma. With the stronger IPAs towards 8%, take a bit more time, so they can warm up a little and show more flavour.
