A brewery from Szekszárd
Brew Your Mind is based in Szekszárd, in the Dunántúl region of Hungary. The brewery is at Tartsay Vilmos utca 8. During opening hours you can also buy beer there, in the brewery shop.
Taste Hungary counts Brew Your Mind among the second wave of Hungarian craft breweries. After pioneers such as Monyo, Mad Scientist and Horizont came newcomers from outside Budapest, such as Brew Your Mind, Zentus and Ugar, who stretched brewing further. That scene got going with the first Főzdefeszt in 2011, in a country with a long lager tradition. Since 2018, the design agency Classmate Studio has worked on the brewery's brand identity, with geometric shapes as its starting point.
Hazy IPAs, sours and a helles
On their own website and on Pint Please you can see what the brewery focuses on: hazy IPAs and double IPAs. The Human Experiment series is hazy DDH DIPA at 8%. Mátra Riesling Grape is a DDH hazy DIPA at 8%. Small Dreams is an IPA at 5.5% in cans. Eternal Dreams goes even further and is a triple IPA at 10%.
They also make a Szekszárd helles, an American pale ale called Better Before, and sour beers such as Fruit Works and Easy Generations Apricot, a wild ale at 5.5% in a bottle.
The brewery is strict about the cold chain. Packaged beer goes straight into the cold room at 2 to 3 degrees and is transported chilled, because hops are sensitive to temperature fluctuations.
Brew Your Mind at Hoptimaal
At our shop you will find Brew Your Mind in IPA and stout, in 44 and 50 cl packaging. The strength ranges from 7 to 13.8%. On Untappd, the barrel-aged editions of Moment In Time in particular are highly rated, namely the edition with Calvados & Apple Brandy and the one with Heaven Hill Bourbon and Mexican Vanilla. Rising Fall, Evermind, Keep Dreaming and Human Experiment SIXTY EIGHT also score well.
Drink the IPAs as fresh and cold as possible. The brewery itself advises keeping them cooled below 5 degrees at all times and drinking the beer within a few weeks, depending on the type. With the heavier stouts and the barrel aged beers you can take more time. Pour them slightly less cold into a smaller glass, and the vanilla, the wood and the sweetness come through better.
