A beer for Manresa
Cerveses Hoppit grew out of the restlessness of three young people from Manresa. They wanted to make a beer of their own for their town and bring a fresh take on craft beer. Ferran Tuneu Díaz is listed at the brewery as a co-founder.
The Spanish culture magazine Coolture calls Cerveses Hoppit the beer of Manresa, something the makers are proud of. They want places from their town to become known everywhere, which is why the beers carry names that belong to Manresa. In town they have La Marmita, a shop with a tasting room.
On Untappd, Cerveses Hoppit is listed as a contract brewery. The sources do not say where the beers are brewed exactly.
Hazy IPAs and heavy stouts
The focus is on hoppy beers in the New England corner. The Judgement is a triple New England IPA of 9.5% with Citra, Riwaka and Wai-iti. You taste mango, mandarin and tropical sweetness, with freshly cut grass and soft resin. The finish is floral and honeyed.
They also make The Broken Toe (IPA with New Zealand hops, 7%) and the double hazy IPAs The Feast of Madness and The Final Boss, both 8%. On the dark side are Manrussia, an imperial stout of 10%, and Llunes I Prunes at 12%. There is also a Manrussia Barrel Aged.
According to their own website and Coolture, all the beers are gluten-free. Untappd lists sixteen beers from the brewery.
Cerveses Hoppit at Hoptimaal
From Cerveses Hoppit we have carried THE HILL'S SHADOW: an IPA of 6% in 44 cl, highly rated on Untappd. It is not in stock at the moment.
You drink hoppy beers fresh and cool, around 8–10 °C, from an IPA glass. That is how the hops and the fruit come across best. If you go for a heavier stout or barrel aged beer from the brewery, give it a bit more time and let it warm up slightly.
