Meer over New England IPA
What makes it hazy?
The brewer adds a lot of hops late in the process, mainly by dry hopping. Oats or wheat often go in as well, which according to the Brewers Association promotes haze. The fruit in the aroma comes from the hops: there doesn't have to be any fruit in the beer. Stronger and fuller? Take a look at the double IPAs, because many hazy IPAs are double hopped and stronger.
You can read where the haze comes from and what 'juicy' means in the Beer School on the New England IPA. Prefer clear and bitter? Go to the West Coast IPAs or to all IPAs.
Fresher is better
Store it cool and drink it fresh, because storing it warm costs you hop aroma. A good starting point is 7–10 °C.
