A younger brother of Browar PINTA
Craft Beer Nomads calls PINTA Barrel Brewing the new 'baby brother' of Browar PINTA and visited the brewery in the spring of 2022. Our sources don't say much more about Barrel Brewing itself, so here first is the history of the older brother.
Browar PINTA started in 2011 as a nomadic brewery and brewed in the facilities of other breweries until 2019. In March 2011 they brewed Atak Chmielu IPA, the first American-style IPA in Poland. For their own brewery they bought land in Wieprz in the south of the country. The first brew there, Atak Chmielu IPA of course, followed in the summer of 2019.
Sour beer and stout from Wieprz
Browar PINTA works on a large scale for a microbrewery: a 5,000-litre brewhouse and a production of 2.56 million litres in 2021. Most of their beers are ales (83%), followed by lagers (11%) and sours (6%). That says something about the parent brewery, not about what Barrel Brewing brews exactly.
What we know of Barrel Brewing is the range: sour beer and stout, with a strength of 4.5 to 12%. On Untappd, PINTA Barrel Brewing Patience, Affection and Liberty (all three 5th Anniversary) score high, as do PINTA Barrel Diffuse, Fumes and Inflame.
