A small brewery in North Jutland
Bad Seed Brewing is based in Storvorde, in the Danish region of Nordjylland. Fredrik Hector Schmidt founded the brewery in 2013, out of a great love for the brewing process. He is still the founder and director.
Schmidt himself names a number of people who keep the company running. Theis gives Bad Seed a face with his designs. According to Schmidt, Peter is the best brewer in the country, Rasmus holds everything together and Nicklas joined later. Schmidt himself calls it a small company that once started as an idea.
Beers without compromise
In its own words, Bad Seed did not let compromises guide it. The result shows in the trophy cabinet. At the Danish Beer Blogger Awards in January 2025, the brewery won both Årets Danske Bryggeri 2024 and Bedste Øludgivelse 2024 with Leviathan. That was out of more than 200 breweries and over 1,800 Danish beer releases. A year later came Årets Bryggeri 2025 and Årets Øludgivelse 2025 for Double Barrel Leviathan.
The members of Danske Ølentusiaster also chose Bad Seed as Årets Danske Bryggeri 2025.
You can see how broad the range is from its own Christmas calendar. It contains IPAs from both coasts, German-inspired lagers, a vintage Christmas beer and beers from the Small Batch series.

Drink hoppy beers like these fresh and cool, so the hop aroma stays clear. With a strong IPA of 8.3%, the glass can warm up a little afterwards. You'll taste more depth and the alcohol is less noticeable. Store them cool and dark, and drink them sooner rather than later.
